Pilot Study
Report how pilot testing improved the research method or tools
To embark on new research is dangerous, as one miscalculation can nullify the entire project. A pilot study tries out the method and research tools on a few cases to uncover problems, e. g. questions that users do not understand. Use pilot study data not to draw conclusions but to modify the research method or research tools. Report how tools like questionnaires or interview scripts were improved based on the pilot study data.
