Check for and fix spelling or grammar language errors, especially early on
While one should not judge a book by its cover, unfortunately many do. Some assume that those who cannot spell correctly also cannot think correctly. Clear spelling or grammar errors, especially early in the publication, suggest a lack of professionalism, and reviewers may then look for (and find) further faults. Always run a computer spell-check last thing, and have a native language speaker read the document.
