Demographics

Present sample demographics and compare them to the research's population demographics

Give your sample's demographics, e. g. number of males vs. females, age etc. and compare with those of the population of interest. This lets readers see if the research sample represents the population. Even if your sample was only one person, you must answer the question "Was that person typical?" Giving subject demographics goes to the question of to what group is this research relevant to? For example always using students to represent the general population may not be representative, though it may also be argued that in some cases students are typical.
