Applications
Does this research have useful applications?
When one discovers new knowledge, an entirely separate issue is how to apply that knowledge. Linking new theory to new applications is an extra step that requires extra effort, and often innovation. How to apply knowledge is the ultimate "So what?" question, and so should be addressed.
